February 2012: Group Galvanizes Men To Stop Violence Against Women

Men Can Stop Rape’s new public awareness campaign challenges men to take a stance and prevent violence, before it occurs. The campaign is targeted for university students because of the high incidences of sexual violence and intimate partner violence in that population. It provides men with some easy steps they can take to take a stand. One technique they use is distraction. A potential bystander is encouraged to call a potential victim on their cell phone to give them time to get away from the potentially dangerous situation.
